R-value

A measure of the heat conductivity of material. The higher the R-value,the better the insulating qualities. The Federal Trade Commission,in something called the R-Value Rule, requires certain disclosures regarding insulation. Among other things, new home sellers must put the following in every sales contract: the type, thickness, and R-value of the insulation that will be installed in each part of the house.Failure to make the required disclosures amounts to a deceptive trade practice and is punishable by fines. For full text of the rule, see 16 CFR 460 available at the Government Printing Office Web site at www.gpo.gov.

According to report published by Grand View Research, Higher insulation values, strength, durability, and lightweight properties offered by insulated concrete forms are likely to boost their demand in construction applications over the forecast period.
Clopay's door panels have insulation values as high as R-19.
Composite materials are moisture resistant, lightweight, stronger than wood, and has a higher insulation value. These lightweight, puncture and impact resistant materials provide increased durability, which leads to long term cost savings.
It also provides the highest insulation value from all the dead air spaces between the ribs.
At a processing temperature of 110[degrees]F, A-6 at 0.25%, 0.50% and 1.0% improved flow by 24%, 22% and 92%, respectively, while maintaining density, good insulation value and percent closed-cell content (table 6).
Old-fashioned homemade curtains are easy to pull aside and they're quite affordable, but they provide negligible insulation value. Be sure you weigh the pros and cons before making your choice.
Loss of thermal insulation value is a consequence of wet insulation--water conducts energy.
Generic low-e insulating glass, consisting of two pieces of coated glass separated by a sealed, gas-filled air space (or cavity), achieves a maximum thermal insulation value of R-4.
Insulation value is estimated at R-00001 using the M.I.C.
Canadian redwood cedar is the preferred choice of construction materials for these buildings, not only for its high insulation value but for its high natural resistance to mildew and insect attack.
The wood, in short, is harder, less prone to cupping or warping, practically free of the possibility of rot or parasite infestation, offers a 30-percent greater insulation value and has a warmer richer colour for a more pleasing look.
It also improves each wall's insulation value by about 140% over wood structural panels.
