Elliott, already an
institutional stockholder of Novell, has offered USD5.75 per share in cash, implying an enterprise value net of cash of USD1.0bn.
It's largest
institutional stockholder, Fidelity Management & Research, sold $151,200 shares in March, leaving it with 1,023,000 shares.
These were just some of the latest challenges for Hollinger, which has been in turmoil since early this year, when a the company's second-largest
institutional stockholder forced Black to establish a committee of the board of directors to review the business practices of Hollinger.
