Grant of Administration
(redirected from Grants of Administration)Grant of Administration
In England and Wales, authorization by a court for an appointed person to begin to administrate the assets of a decedent. A grant of administration is given when the decedent dies intestate, that is, when he/she dies without a will. This contrasts with a grant of probate, which is a similar authorization given to the executor of a will.
