I AM the daughter of William Beaumont, who gave the interview to the pleasant young Irish reporter, Barry Gibson, regarding his article headlined "A Reet
Gradely Idea", (Examiner October 4.) To be honest, when I first read the headline I did think immediately that it didn't sound at all like Yorkshire dialect.
"God bless th' my lass: aw'll go whoam An' aw'll kiss thee an'th'childer o'round; Thae knows that wherever aw roam, Aw'm fain to get back to th'owd ground; Aw can do wi' a crack o'er a glass; gossip Aw can do wi' a bit of a spree frolic But aw've no
gradely comfort, my lass real Except wi' yon childer an' thee.
