Follow the Smart Money
Follow the Smart Money
An investment practice in which one buys and sells the same securities as institutional investors and/or market insiders. Supposedly, these investments perform better than others because institutional investors and market insiders are thought to be better informed than most investors. Many analysts, however, dispute the idea that smart money is any "smarter" than that of the average investor.
