International Court of Justice
Also called the ICJ. The supreme judicial body of the United Nations. It decides disputes between states and rules on questions submitted to it by various international organizations, notably the UN General Assembly. It claims global jurisdiction but this is not universally accepted. It began in 1946 and is based in the Hague. It should not be confused with the International Criminal Court.
