Fast Tape(redirected from Fast Tapes)
In futures trading, a situation where trading on a contract is so active that an accurate quote cannot be given on its price. That is, a fast tape occurs when the price is changing very rapidly because of the large number of trades. When this happens, a ticker gives the range of prices within which the contract is trading and notes "fast" after it. This indicates that the situation is changing quickly. See also: ticker tape.
