Equities in Dallas

Equities in Dallas

Slang; an unwanted and lackluster job at a Wall Street trading firm. The term connotes a job with no future given to a person unlikely to do well at the company, perhaps because he or she has fallen into disfavor with an executive. The term was popularized by the book Liar's Poker, which describes the author's experience as a bond trader on Wall Street in the 1980s.
