Department for Business, Innovation and Skills

A department of the British government responsible for advising the government and implementing law related to corporate governance, business regulation, intellectual property, international trade, and other business issues. For example, it is the department that issues export licenses. The department was created in 2009 but traces its origins to the 17th century.
