Usually refers to the fact that analysts begin following a particular security. This usually happens when there is enough trading in it to warrant attention by the investment community.

Coverage Initiated

The date on which a brokerage or research firm begins giving buy or sell ratings to a particular publicly-traded company. The term is most commonly used in the media when a first rating is reported.
