Clock Tower Attrition

A slang term for a situation in which a new manager fires a large number of his/her subordinates in a short period of time. Clock tower attrition may occur because the previous employees were incompetent, or simply because the new manager wants to bring in his/her own allies. The term may refer to the clock tower massacre at the University of Texas in 1966.
