Big Blue

Informal for IBM, a major computer and information technology company. IBM develops software and hardware, provides network hosting, and offers IT consulting services. It is one of the only IT companies to trace its origins back more than 100 years. It was established in New York in 1896. After Coca-Cola, IBM is considered the second-most valuable brand name in the world.

Big Blue

A widely used reference to the firm, International Business Machines Corporation. The term derives from the company's logo, usually appearing in blue.
