Belgian Franc

The former currency of Belgium. It traces its origins to the conquest of the Low Countries during the Napoleonic Wars. It has been pegged to a number of different currencies throughout its history and was one of the currencies in the Latin Monetary Union for a time. It was replaced by the euro in 2002.
