In any case, the evolution of personal computers allows nowadays the implementation of sophisticated analysis based on the subjective approach to statistical inference (Fienberg, 2006) in a similar vein the linear models are now plausible compared to the past (Cohen, Cohen, West, & Aiken, 2003) so time will tell whether Bayesian statistics becomes a key element into the researchers' toolkit.
Among several possible improvements, two prominent issues will be addressed in this paper, and all of them are related to the collection and analysis of the historical fatigue data: failure modes and the Bayesian statistics approach.
To specify the spatially autocorrelated random effect, we employed a Gaussian intrinsic conditional autoregressive model (intrinsic CAR; Besag et al., 1991; Ishihama et al., 2010) in a framework of hierarchical Bayesian statistics. The CAR model is one of the methods giving the best performances in exploring spatial autocorrelation (Dormann et al., 2007; Beale et al., 2010).
The second half of the book contains chapters on newly emerging fields such as Bayesian statistics (specifically Bayesian Belief Networks or BBNs, Chapter 20).

Researchers from the faculties of Economic and Business Sciences at the Universities of Granada and Jaen have analyzed the performance of football players over nine seasons with the aim to create a mathematical model based on Bayesian statistics to evaluate their goal-scoring potential.
