Deutsche Bank (DB) has told nearly 1,000 corporate clients that they will lose access to basic banking
services in weeks because it has not received documents required to verify their identity, Stephen Morris and Mark Vandevelde of the Financial Times report.
With 3,300 bank branches having shut since 2015, it's harder than ever for them to carry out basic banking
services in their local area.
Furthermore, the instructions include simplified due diligence procedures associated with opening accounts, no minimum balance is required, exempting the clients from some commissions and fees, in addition to providing the basic banking
services such as withdrawal, deposit, banking transfers, and electronic banking services.
He said the bank will begin operations by offering basic banking
products and then gradually move to the latest digital banking ones.
The bank has signed an AUD22m deal, spanning five years, to support the Bank@Post service, which lets people access basic banking
at more than 3,500 post offices across the nation.
As the big banks continue to move away from no-fee basic banking
services, FCB's re-introduction of fee-free checking for its personal banking customers is the latest example of how the Florida-focused, customer-centric bank with 50 banking centers statewide is providing individuals with the services that best suit their needs.
