Authorized Investment

Authorized Investment

An investment made in accordance with a trust or a client's wishes or other instructions. It is illegal for a fiduciary agent or a trustee to make anything other than an authorized investment. This contrasts with a legal investment, which is an investment a regulated institution is allowed to make by the government.
