Carl Stutsman, medical director of the Merchants Life Insurance Co., Des Moines, Iowa, at a meeting of the medical section of the American Life Convention. While "generations of underwriters" had given the question careful deliberation and all the best sources of information had been surveyed, Stutsman said, "the canvass does not seem to have produced such a crystallization of opinion as to result in a satisfactory uniformity of action."
