A link between FasL and AREG was already demonstrated by a study in hepatocytes which proves AREG to reduce cellular apoptosis via shedding of membrane-bound FasL [30].
To investigate the effects on gene expression of 8-PN alone and in co-treatment with 3-MC, we chose genes that were identified in earlier experiments as being highly regulated by E2 (Areg, Csn2, Pgr) as well as genes associated with proliferation (Kif, Mki67; Figure 6C).
