Above Poverty Line

In India, a measure of persons who live above its nationally designated poverty threshold. India divides the poverty threshold into urban and rural areas. People in urban areas must meet higher monthly income minimums to be considered above the poverty line. The World Bank uses a more stringent poverty threshold than the Indian government.
