Automatic Dialing and Recorded Message Player

In marketing, a program that calls a preset list of phone numbers and leaves a recorded message. Often (though not always), the message is recorded by a celebrity endorser of the product being marketed. Since the mid-2000s, it has become a fairly common feature of political campaigns.
