A form published by the IRS for a company to claim a deduction for the payment of a deficiency dividend. A deficiency dividend is a dividend a personal holding company, real estate investment trust, or regulated investment company pays after the IRS has determined that certain taxes are owed, but before these taxes are paid. These dividends may be tax deductible.
