A form one files to request help from the Taxpayer Advocate Service. The Taxpayer Advocate Service is a branch of the IRS that provides free assistance to individual and corporate taxpayers who are experiencing trouble with the IRS. If one is facing immediate IRS action, Form 911 enables one to start the process of receiving this assistance. The Taxpayer Advocate Service may be able to stop asset seizures and similar measures while a case is being processed.
