Zoom
To focus the lens of a camera such that it appears that a photographer is closer to or farther away from a picture he/she takes. If the photographer focuses so that the subject appears closer, he/she is said to zoom in; if the photographer focuses so that the subject appears farther away, he/she is said to zoom out. Zooming became possible with the invention of the Zoomar lens in 1959.
