Word Association Test
A game or psychological test in which a participant is given a word and is asked to state the word he/she first thinks of upon hearing that word. A word association test is thought (though this is disputed) to reveal the contents of the participant's subconscious mind. It is used in marketing to help determine the precise words to use in an advertisement by attempting to ensure that viewers or listeners will associate the ad with the "proper" words.
