Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Medical, Encyclopedia 0.01 sec.
Wafer Seal
A small adhesive, shaped like a wafer, that holds the pages of a magazine or other periodical together when it is sent in the mail. A wafer seal may also be placed on an envelope. Its purpose is to ensure that one does not read the enclosed material without leaving evidence of doing so. It is also called a mailing tab.
