A symbol appearing next to a security listed on NASDAQ indicating that the security trades in units rather than shares. All NASDAQ listings use a four-letter abbreviation; if a "U" follows the abbreviation, this indicates that the security being traded is a unit security.

Used in the daily or weekly high column of stock transaction tables in newspapers to indicate that the price of a security has reached a new 52-week high: u75.
