Transshipment
The passing goods from one ocean vessel to another.

Transshipment
The transfer of goods from one ship or other vessel to another, especially while in transit. One may think of transshipment as a layover in the importing and exporting of goods. Because it exposes the buyer to the risk that the goods will be damaged in transit, some letters of credit prohibit transshipment. The term is also spelled as transhipment.
