Used in the Torrens system,it is a duplicate Torrens certificate of title. The owner of property receives a duplicate certificate; the original is retained by the registrar and recorded.When the property is sold, the purchaser receives the transfer certificate of title, which is surrendered to the registrar in order to complete issuance of a new Torrens certificate listing the new owner.
