Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Toll-Free
A telephone number that never results in charges to the caller. That is, one is not assessed long distance or other charges when one calls a toll-free number. It is often used for charities and technical support services in which the owner of the number solicits phone calls. In the United States, toll-free numbers usually begin with 800 or 888.
