Additional advantages that synchronous belt drives offer design engineers include:
Team teaching in a synchronous environment allows the primary instructor to be devoted to instruction rather than to any number of distractions that could come along during class time.
We recognize that nightly tape backup is not adequate for protecting one of our most critical applications, but we can't afford synchronous hardware.
Synchronous replication is where every write from the application is sent to the local disk system, which sends it to the remote storage system.
As a result, synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy (SONET/SDH) has become a dominant standard on the optical networks.
Synchronous replication is when every write to the local storage is also written to the remote storage device before the I/O is acknowledged to the application.
SDH Principles" introduces the fundamental principles of the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) as employed in modern broadband networks.
In a synchronous mirroring environment, each time an application attempts to write data to disk, the transaction is sent to both the local and remote storage devices in parallel.
Transmission Principles" introduces the principles of synchronous transmission techniques as employed in modern long-haul networks.
Data replication can occur in a synchronous, asynchronous, or semi-synchronous mode of operation.
