Soft Sell

An advertisement that subtly encourages the target to purchase the product. For example, a soft sell commercial may state the advantages to a product with or without specifically asking a customer to buy it. A soft sell contrasts with a hard sell, which is more demanding.

a gentle and indirect approach to marketing a BRAND or product. This style of ADVERTISING or PERSONAL SELLING can appeal to more discerning prospective buyers who require more objective information about a product. See HARD SELL.
