Shooting Star
In candlestick charting, a situation in which a security, which was trading above its opening price for most of the trading day, suddenly reverses and closes down for the day. This is represented on the candlestick chart by a (usually short) black candle with a long upward shadow, which looks like a wick. Shooting stars occur during a bullish trend and may indicate reversal.
