secondary easement

    0.07 sec.
secondary easement

A voluntary but legally enforceable restriction on land that is necessary in order to assist in the rights granted under another easement. This is typically encountered in the context of one's ability to enter on the land of another to maintain a right-of-way easement. It is sometimes difficult to repave a road while remaining only on the road—the easement—so a secondary easement is necessary.
