He managed the design teams that developed some of the semiconductor industry's most significant products, including the world's first merchant market large-scale integrated dynamic random access memory (DRAM); the first erasable, programmable read-only memory
(EPROM); and the world's first microprocessor.
Memory cards include both Flash and Read-only memory
and are used for storing data for use in PDAs, cell phones and other handheld devices.
Both applications are pre-loaded in the read-only memory
(ROM) but additional memory space for other applications is available in the erasable memory (EEPROM).
