Plug Plug In marketing, to mention a product or business favorably for pay. For example, the host of a game show may mention that a certain company makes good or cheap products if that company has sponsored the show. This marketing tool is thought to be effective because it provides the added feeling of a "personal" endorsement difficult or impossible to achieve on regular commercials. Plugs are common on radio shows, and are becoming increasingly common on reality television shows. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
