Plug
A variable that handles financial slack in the financial plan.

Plug
In marketing, to mention a product or business favorably for pay. For example, the host of a game show may mention that a certain company makes good or cheap products if that company has sponsored the show. This marketing tool is thought to be effective because it provides the added feeling of a "personal" endorsement difficult or impossible to achieve on regular commercials. Plugs are common on radio shows, and are becoming increasingly common on reality television shows.
