An official notice by property owners that they are not responsible for debts incurred to improve property,and that vendors and subcontractors must look solely to the general contractor for payment.Proper posting of the notice prevents the imposition of mechanics' and materialmen's liens in the event the general contractor does not pay the subcontractors or the suppliers.
