Noncompete

Noncompete
A provision in a number of employment contracts that prohibits an employee from working for a competing firm for a specified number of years after the employee leaves the firm.

Noncompete
Describing a clause in many employment contracts forbidding an employee from working for another firm that competes with the employer for a certain number of years after the termination of the contract. A noncompete clause may have a geographic limit. For example, a dentist who goes to work for corporate dental practice may sign a noncompete clause forbidding him from working for a competing dental practice within 25 miles for five years after the completion of the contract.

The administration has committed to take specific steps to reduce wasteful spending, overcharges, and fraud, including: * restricting use of noncompetitive and cost-reimbursement contracts; * ensuring inherently governmental functions are not outsourced; * improving acquisition workforce quality; * implementing Government Accountability Office (GAO) recommendations to reduce overpayments and cost overruns; and * reviewing GAO-specified high-risk acquisition programs.
It also aims to develop a keen sense of fair-play and personal achievement by participating in Gaelic games, all in a fun, noncompetitive environment.
And though the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve seem to think otherwise, there is a limit to how many tax dollars can be thrown around to prop up every noncompetitive actor with a hearttugging story.
