Member Short Sale Ratio In technical analysis, a ratio of short sales made by members of the New York Stock Exchange to the total short sales on a given trading day. Members of the NYSE are thought to be especially knowledgeable about the direction of the market and investors often sell short when they are feeling bearish. Thus, a high member short sale ratio is considered a bearish signal, while a low ratio can be thought bullish. How to thank TFD for its existence?
