Marry a Stock

    0.01 sec.
marry a stock
To hold a stock for a long period regardless of other investment opportunities or indications that the security should be sold. Most investment advisers consider it unwise to marry a stock, because an investor's needs and the desirability of a particular stock will change over time.

Marry a Stock
To buy and hold a stock regardless of its market movements. One who marries a stock has no intention to sell it for any foreseeable reason, irrespective of other opportunities, or of the stock's positive or negative performance. Most investment advisers recommend against marrying a stock, even for long-term investors.
