(1) The point in time at which a security's price begins to trend downwards after trending upwards. (2) The price level at which a security's price begins to trend downwards after trending upwards.

Market Top
The highest price for a security or index over a given period of time. For example, if Stock A has been on a bullish trend for a long time and later begins to decline, the market top is the highest price during its bull market. See also: Fulcrum point, Market bottom.

The high point of stock prices measured by one or more of the stock averages or indexes. Compare market bottom.
