Major Bracket
In bracketing, the second largest underwriting group responsible for placing a certain amount of a new issue with investors. The major bracket is the second largest, and is sometimes used interchangeably with "mezzanine bracket." Brackets are listed in order of size on an advertisement detailing each new issue, known as the tombstone.

The listing of the primary underwriters in a securities offering. The major bracket appears immediately under the names of the issue's comanagers.
