Holder The purchaser of an option.
Holder The owner of a given security. One may hold any type of security, and the term is often part of a compound word indicating which type is held. For example, the owner of share is called a shareholder, while the owner of a bond is called a bondholder. On its own, the term often applies to owners of derivatives, as in an option holder.
