Denomination Corresponds to the face value of currency units, coins, and securities. An international transaction may be denominated in US dollars, for example, or in British pounds. Denomination The face value of money or a bond. The denomination for a bond is most often $1000, which the par paid at maturity. Denominations on money indicate how much cash one has. For example, if one has a bill with a $10 denomination, this indicates that one has $10.
