class (building) Subjective evaluation of the desirability of an office building based on its age, amenities, maintenance, and design. There are no hard-and-fast rules, and evaluations may change for a virtually identical building in two different markets.The classification is independent of the location; one commonly encounters comments such as “It's a class B property in a class A location,” meaning a less desirable building happily situated at a great location and thus able to command higher rents than might otherwise be expected.
