A government agency that buys whole issues of municipal bonds from local governments. Bond banks buy these bonds using funds they accumulate from the issue of their own bonds.

Chas manages the Kirklees Bond Bank which helps homeless people by providing a bond to rent a property.
The bond bank scheme, which is being co-ordinated by the city's housing help centre, has been in development since last year, when it was revealed cowboy letting agent Castle Management had swindled students out of around pounds 250,000 in housing bonds and rent.
In addition, the bond bank maintains a $20 million discretionary reserve, which is not pledged to bondholders but may be used if a deficiency occurs.
