Bid Price
(redirected from bid prices)

Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Wikipedia 0.04 sec.
Bid price
This is the quoted bid, or the highest price an investor is willing to pay to buy a security. Practically speaking, this is the available price at which an investor can sell shares of stock. Related: Ask, offer.

Bid Price
On an exchange, the highest price a buyer of a security or other asset is willing to pay. This may or may not match up with the ask price ? the highest amount for which a seller is willing to sell. Practically, however, the bid price is the highest price a seller can command for his/her security or asset unless he/she is willing to wait for a better one. This is especially true of illiquid securities and assets for which a buyer may not always be readily available. See also: Bid-ask spread, Current price.
