Talisman (Transfer Accounting Lodgement for Investors)

the UK STOCK MARKET computerized transfer system which handles the administrative work involved in transferring STOCKS and SHARES and settling accounts through the official stock market company, SEPON. In 1994 a rolling settlement system was introduced in which settlement takes place ten working days after the completion of a deal. This replaces the traditional ACCOUNT PERIOD system. Settlement was cut to five working days in 1995 thus speeding up the whole process of concluding deals. See CREST, SHARE PURCHASE/SALE.
