sprinkler system

A system of overhead pipes,valves,heads,and sensors that will cause the release of water if a fire develops.Under most building codes,certain types of structures are required to have sprinkler systems. If present, but not required, the owner may usually have fewer fire walls, greater occupancy levels,and/or fewer exits and greater distances between exits.
