Table (7) shows the calculated values of
nitrogen balance and nitrogen efficiency indices and their percentage changes compared to the base year in different scenarios, in different groups of Zabol farmers.
According to a meta-analysis of
nitrogen balance studies, the research shows that "well-processed soy proteins were equivalent to animal protein, whereas wheat proteins were used with lower efficiency than were animal protein (beef)." Similarly, studies comparing egg proteins with rice or wheat gluten also found significant differences in utilization between the animal and plant sources of protein.
Intake, digestibilities, and
nitrogen balance. R Bras Zootec 1997;26:1259-63.
Thr-to-Lys ratios (P<0.05) were observed on
nitrogen balance (Table 2), as described by the equations: Y = 36.2349 + 38.1268x , [r.sup.2] = 96.90 e Y = 36.5098 + 37.789x, [r.sup.2] = 99.84, respectively.
Effect of different levels of sodium nitrate with or without sulphur on
nitrogen balance in Lohi sheep and Teddy goat
The
nitrogen balance was obtained by subtracting the total nitrogen intake from the total nitrogen excreted in feces, urine and milk.
Thus, the experiment was designed to evaluate DM voluntary intake, apparent nutrient digestibility,
nitrogen balance, and liveweight changes by intact West African dwarf breed of rams, and later rumen DM degradability were carried out on the stover using rumen-fistulated West African dwarf (WAD) sheep to determine feed quality by sole feeding stover from six dual-purpose groundnut cultivars to the animals.
We found that data from published
nitrogen balance studies indicate that, a higher protein intake of 1.0-1.3 g/k.d is required to maintain
nitrogen balance in the healthy elderly, which may be explained by their lower energy intake and impaired insulin action during feeding compared with young persons.
Summed over 5 years, the predicted
nitrogen balance of the effluent-irrigated treatment showed that the accumulation of nitrogen in the aboveground biomass and litter (335 and 19 kg/ha) was significantly less than the amount of nitrogen added in effluent (508 kg/ha).
On the other hand, seasonal droughts, poor plant rooting, and soils with low water holding capacities cause frequent plant water deficits (1) (16); and the subsequent reductions of dinitrogen fixation may result in a net negative
nitrogen balance from peanut and other legumes (10)(12).
Followed by feeding trial a five days total collection method was used to determine the digestibility coefficients and
nitrogen balance trial during which calves were fed at 90% of their voluntary feed intake (Begum et al., 2010; Anjum, 2011).
